February 3, 2012: The has been high for a while, and remains over 2,800 cfs. Steelhead are around in good numbers, with some new fish around this week. Nymphs and eggs are always a good bet at this time of the year. Articulated nymph patterns work well when dead drift or swung very slowly. Swung flies are becoming more productive, producing great strikes. Trout fishing with tiny nymphs can be very good in the soft water on the edges of the river.
Friend Chad holds a great fish that took a swung fly today.
A sculpin pattern that continues to be effective has been added to the site. For up to date river levels, click here.
